Vitamix vs. Blendtec Battle of the Blenders w/ Jen Hansard of Simple Green Smoothies

What's up, Rawkstars? We are going to see how these two powerful blenders handle making green smoothies. Which one is better?

Sign up for our free 7-day green smoothie challenge!

Today, we have something extra special we're doing. One, I have my husband, Ryan with us today.

We're going to do a battle of the blenders between the two top brands out there. We have Vitamix vs. Blendtec. So we have picked the models for both that are in the same category. The Vitamix A3500 Ascent Series blender, which retails for 549. And the Blendtec Designer 725, which retails for $599

So Team Vitamix right here, representing. I want to show you some of the features that I think make it even more awesome than another blender close by. The first one is it is just such a durable, it’s a strong machine. It is substantial. It is durable. This is Vitamix. They've been around forever, and they seem to always work.

One benefit of the Blendtec is that it has a blunt blade. It's a safety blade, you can even spin it around with your finger and not cut your finger. That is pretty impressive. The Blendtec also has a great eight-year warranty, so if you buy this, you are covered for eight years, and you'll be blending very, very happily for those eight years and beyond. However, the Vitamix has a 10-year warranty, two extra years.

Overall, they're both great blenders, I'm sure. They're great brands. Let's battle it out and just see how they work.

Okay, okay. So how are we going to test these? Because all of these features are fun and neat, but we really care about what? If it blends a green smoothie well. So we're going to do the exact same thing. Let's do it! Ready?

We are going to blend our Beginner’s Luck Green Smoothie, you can watch a video of how to make it here

I would say we got the same results. Yes, I would say the same results. The Vitamix was 10 seconds quicker. They did exactly what they needed to do in a very similar way in very similar times. Yeah. I still think the Vitamix won, but ...

Thanks so much for watching this video, and I really would appreciate if you would subscribe to our YouTube channel. Ryan is the man behind the scenes. Usually, I'm in front, doing all the blender demos in our kitchen, and he's behind the camera, making sure that these go well, they're edited, that they're filmed. So his heart is behind this project, too, and he wants you to subscribe, grow our channel, tell your friends about it, because it matters to us and it matters to our community, as we're trying to grow larger and larger so that we can help more people get healthy.

Yeah, so like, comment, subscribe.
THE MAN WITH THE HELMET : Can you please blend *activated organic* macadamia/wallnuts into smooth nut butter consistency? I want to check if the a3500i is efficient!
BestAzon : Nice video really appreciate for this awesome informational video. Here is a video also where some extra information here-

Jack PRick : Thanks for the video. I used to have a Ninja and I hated washing the jar, cover and blades. The jar and cover had so many nooks and crannies that were hard to get to, and the blades were sharp so you had to be careful to not cut yourself. Operationally, it was also a pain in the butt because the jar has to be locked in and the lid also has to be locked in. I got sick and tired of that. That drove me to want a blender that I could just throw the lid on and throw it on the motor. The Blendtec had those features I was looking for, plus I also really liked the blunt blade feature. Washing it was going to be easy. Costco had them at a great price so I bought one. Five years later, I am still really happy with it. I had considered the Vitamix. I believe they do make the best, most robust blender but they were much more expensive at the time. I notice that Consumer Reports reliability rating is average(?) for Blendtec 725, vs excellent for Vitamix. I have a hunch that the electronic controls are probably the culprit of the issues. The motor and jar assembly, I think, are very robust and I would not expect that to be an issue. So if you are buying a Blendtec, my recommendation would be get the basic one, the 575 which is currently $350 at Costco and includes the Wilde Side Plus jar.
Yordan Kovachev : awesome job you two. thanks for the video
Paul Leach : Vitamix also has dull blades. I used to sell these and used to put a Dixie cup in the blender at the lowest setting and it would pop around the jar without cutting it

I thought it would be fun to put these two powerful blenders in a side-by-side comparison and run them through a few tests. They are both great blenders and I would be happy having either one of these in my home... but which one is the best? Let me know your thoughts and comments down below. Which blender do you have?

Jayme Romero : The first test wasn't fair since they initially weren't doing it based on the pre programed functions; it was for smoothness. it's really tough to tell how well the blenders did in the first test because anything can look good in a glass. They really needed to use a white plate, pour a little mixture from both blenders on separate plates, and move the mixture on the plate...that will show which one won the first test. Plus the Vitamix doesn't need water or any liquid for what the frozen fruits they used.
Sharon D : I could already tell without even watching this that Vitamix will win.
Master Caster : I know what happend on the fruitbowl. I see this in blenders all the time when I play with a new one. too much power causes and air bubble. like an air lock. You gotto turn it off, give it a shake, and nother go , sometimes more then once. or start out with a lower power. the tamper an just push it all down and it creates the illusion that it is doing better, really it probly just pops the bubble / jams it down. I have an older vitamix. and the tamper also mixes the swirl. I get chunks if i dont tamp and thats a bit irritating, however it still is probly my best or close to the best blender. its also from like 1970. its all chrome and has a revers button on it
womanwithtoolbelt : So deceiving when I first saw the video it looked like Vitamix was going to be bad but actually the blentec is not that great, my opinion
Amy Clark : Looking to buy a blender and trying to determine if I want to invest in a vitamix. After watching this I now want to make smoothie bowls lol thank you for the content!
